As our marketplace evolves to support your business securely, inactive fixed-price contracts created before 2018 will no longer be supported on Upwork. But don’t worry; you can still work with freelancers on contracts impacted by this change.
If you’re impacted, you’ll receive an email notification letting you know you have an open contract that should be closed before July 30th, 2023. If you don’t close the contract, we’ll assume the work has finished and we will close the contract.
Note:
Fixed-price contracts created after January 1, 2018, will continue to be supported, and no action is required from you or your freelancer for those contracts.
To close the contract:
- Go to Jobs › All Contracts to find the contract
- Choose the (...) button and select End Contract, or select the End Contract button on your dashboard
- Choose End Contract to confirm
If you and your freelancer want to continue working together, you can post a job and invite the freelancer.
