We built Upwork Groups as a way for clients to find freelancers of a specific skill set. Since then, we’ve seen clients rely more on our match capabilities instead. As we focus more on improving these match capabilities, we'll be retiring and closing existing Upwork Groups, effective on September 16th.
For freelancers, this means
- If you previously joined an Upwork Group, this group will no longer appear on your profile
- Your profile will continue to be discoverable by clients using Upwork’s search and filter tools
