PayPal

This article explains how to add PayPal as a withdrawal method on Upwork. Your verified name must match on both platforms, and you'll need to sign in to PayPal for setup. There’s a three-day hold before the method becomes active. You can’t edit a PayPal account — for changes, add a new method. - AI helped create this summary

To make getting paid easier, Upwork offers several payment withdrawal methods, including PayPal. To use PayPal, your verified name on Upwork must match the name on your PayPal account. If you haven't verified your name yet, be sure your profile name matches the name on your PayPal account.

Use PayPal

  1. Go to Account settings (desktop) or Settings (mobile app) > Get Paid
  2. Select Add a method
  3. Choose the Set up button by PayPal
  4. You will be redirected to sign in to your PayPal account for verification
  5. Choose a payment schedule and select Next

NOTE

For security reasons, any PayPal account added to your Upwork account will become active after three days.

Edit your account

Your PayPal account details on Upwork cannot be edited. If your PayPal account has changed, you must add a new payment method to ensure that your details on Upwork match your new PayPal account information. Don't forget to remove the old payment method at that time, too.

Account fees

PayPal is a third-party payment vendor, and their features and fees vary depending on your locations.
