Are there separate apps for clients and freelancers?

Yes, we created separate client and freelancer apps to deliver more personalized experiences for you. If you use Upwork as both a freelancer and client, you can also download our app for freelancers. If you exclusively use Upwork as a client and have our older app that combined both, you can delete the old app after downloading Upwork for Clients — the old app will eventually be completely retired.

Why are there two Upwork client apps in the App Store and Google Play Store?

To ensure our mobile apps include all of the capabilities our community uses the most, we decided to build one from scratch. Until we finish migrating a majority of clients onto our new apps, you will see two Upwork apps in the Apple and Google Play stores. Once you’ve downloaded the Upwork for Clients app you can delete the old app. If you also use Upwork as a freelancer you should download our app for freelancers.

Are all features/capabilities accessible through the app?

We made sure to include all the tools clients use the most; however, some features will require you to use your desktop or mobile browser instead of the app.

I downloaded the new app. Should I delete the old one?

If you also use Upwork as a freelancer you should download our app for freelancers and delete the old app. If you exclusively use Upwork as a client (to hire), you can delete the old app. We plan to retire the previous app completely.
