iPhone and Android Apps

You can find the latest version of the Upwork mobile app by going to the Upwork Mobile page, iTunes App Store, or Google Play store.

The Upwork mobile app for iPhone or Android is for freelancers and clients alike. It lets online workers get more done from anywhere, anytime. We are working on additional features for clients and freelancers.

For freelancers:

  • View and accept or decline job invitations
  • Receive push notifications for job invitations and messages
  • Reply to and compose messages
  • Search jobs
  • Submit proposals
  • Accept and decline offers

For clients:

  • Receive alerts when invitations are accepted or declined
  • Reply to proposals
  • Reply to and compose messages
  • Review proposals
  • Hire freelancers
  • Set milestone for fixed-price contracts

Compatibility Requirements

Upwork app on iPhone requires iOS 9.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Upwork app on Android requires a 4.2+ device with Google Play services. This app is optimized for devices under 7" (on tablets, the app will look just like it does on a smaller phone).

Push Notifications

When you download and install the Upwork app, you will be prompted to enable notifications. You can change your notifications in your phone's settings. On Android, you can also customize your notifications in the app's settings.

Switch Account Types

Like on the Upwork website, you can switch between account types as needed. Between entities, messages and other information are kept separate. You will only receive notifications about the currently active account entity (freelancer, company, or agency).

  1. Tap °°° More (iOS) or Menu button (Android, top left)
  2. Tap your Company name
  3. Tap the account entity you prefer

We’ll start a video chat with you. Please make sure you use a desktop device with a camera to continue the process. Also, allow Upwork temporary use of your camera and microphone. You may disable this access after the chat session.
