Login Issues

Account Blocked

If you have too many failed attempts in a short time period, your account will be blocked as a security measure. Visit and login from there to unblock your account.

Connection Error

If you see this error message, please try again in a few minutes. If you continue to see this, please email [email protected] or [email protected]

Upwork Maintenance

Upwork is temporarily down for maintenance occasionally. Please visit to check the site status.

App Screens Not Loading

If you experience any of the following issues:

  • User info cannot be downloaded
  • Connecting status doesn’t go away
  • No internet connection

Then follow these instructions:

  1. Confirm you are on a working internet connection (cellular or wifi).
  2. Confirm you have the latest version of the Upwork mobile app by going to the iTunes App Store or Google Play store.
  3. Remove the app from the device’s memory (force stop/quit), reopen the app, and try again.
  4. If the problem persists, email [email protected] or [email protected]

Our records show your Upwork account is not active.

This might be due to no account activity (earnings, payments, contracts, etc.) or because we had to suspend it. When we suspend an account we send an email explaining the reason and whether or not you can take steps to reverse the suspension. Please review that email for more details.
