Upwork’s new beta feature is designed to match candidates open to full-time employment with clients seeking to fill full-time employment roles. Clients provide Upwork with details for their full-time job and the beta feature delivers a shortlist of best-matched candidates based on their job requirements.
If you recently submitted your resume through this beta feature:
- Match: You may match with opportunities that align with your unique skills and work preferences. Clients are presented with your resume and Upwork profile for review.
- Interview invitation: If a company finds your profile to be a potential match for their team, they can reach out directly to you for an interview through messages. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your qualifications and why you stand out as the perfect candidate for their full-time role.
- Job offer consideration: Should a company select you as their top candidate, they may extend you a job offer. You will then have the chance to review the offer, and if you like it, the decision is yours to accept it.
Here are two key differences from the typical Upwork process that you’ll experience when using this beta feature:
- Contracts: Clients are not required to start an Upwork contract in order to hire a candidate.
- Hiring: The process of hiring, onboarding, and managing payroll takes place off of the Upwork platform.
There are two ways you can let the client know you are declining their invite to interview.
- Select Respond to invitation in your invitation email.
- Log in to your freelancer account, go to Messages, find the message from the client and respond.
Currently, we do not have the option to re-upload your resume directly through the platform. However, we are working on implementing this feature soon. Once available, we will notify all beta participants.
No. Activity while using this beta feature will not impact your Connects, talent badges, or Job Success Score on Upwork.
In this beta, full-time jobs are not publicly posted or open for applications. This beta feature’s matching algorithm analyzes the information in the resume you previously provided to ensure highly-relevant matches are delivered to hiring clients. It is at the client’s discretion to review their matches and select candidates to interview.
Sharing contact information and communicating outside of Upwork before a contract starts is against Upwork’s Terms of Service. Please use the communication services available on Upwork to message and interview with clients.
For jobs related to the beta feature for full-time matching, clients do not start an Upwork contract to hire candidates. The process of hiring, onboarding, and managing payroll takes place off of the Upwork platform.
This exception applies to the full-time jobs submitted using this beta feature only. Hiring for jobs posted through Upwork’s typical hiring process requires starting an Upwork contract.
