The first step in creating an introduction video that stands out is creating a script for your Upwork profile video. We recommend keeping it around two to three minutes. Tell the client who you are and what services you offer. Most importantly, tell the client why they should work with you. Make sure that you dress professionally with business casual being the minimum. It's really important to set up an environment to film in as well. You don't want a bunch of background sounds that will distract the client and break engagement. You also want to film somewhere that has great lighting. Any room that has a window with a lot of natural light will work best. Audio and video are critical as well. If you have a nice camera with a good microphone, perfect. If not, don't worry. You can still film your video with a smartphone or webcam from your computer. Now it's time to review it. Did you speak clearly? Do you have good lighting? Can you see your face clearly? Is your voice loud enough? Did you smile and show enthusiasm after editing your video? Now you're ready to publish it.

A profile introduction video is a fantastic way to stand out and connect with potential clients personally. To create an engaging Upwork profile video:

  • Introduce yourself and your skills: Briefly introduce yourself, your background, and your areas of expertise.
  • Showcase your personality: Let your personality shine through! A genuine and engaging video can make a strong first impression.
  • Highlight your work: Briefly showcase some of your past projects or work samples to give clients a glimpse of your capabilities.
