In several cities across the world we have Upwork Ambassadors, local Upwork representatives who support the Upwork freelancer community in their cities, helping freelancers to build and grow their online freelance businesses. Ambassadors organize and host a variety of events, ranging from new freelancer workshops and webinars to networking events such as Top Rated meetups to Expert Nights and larger Upwork Freelance conferences.

Are there Official Upwork Events in my city?

Upwork Ambassadors host educational and social events on a regular basis in several cities across the world. Invites for each event are sent out via email to eligible freelancers (generally Rising Talent and Top Rated) in the respective city only. What happens if all tickets for an Official Upwork Event are “sold out”?

Based on our experience, tickets for Upwork Events usually “sell out” very quickly (all events are free of charge). If you were not able to get a seat at the upcoming event in your city, you can add yourself to the waitlist or stay tuned for an invite for future events.

What should I do if I’m not able to attend but have registered for a ticket?

Please make sure to cancel your ticket if you are not able to attend an event you have registered for. Just log in to eventbrite.com, go to the Tickets page, and locate your order. Click your order to view order details, and then select "Cancel Order" to cancel your registration.

What if I haven’t received an invite for an Official Upwork Event in my city?

If you think you should have received an invite for an event in your city but didn’t, you may have unsubscribed from Upwork marketing emails at some point. If you’d like to start receiving those again, please submit this form and we’ll add you back to the list.

Does it cost anything to attend an Official Upwork Event?

No, it is completely free of cost to attend an Official Upwork Event.

What is the difference between Official Upwork Events and Upwork Huddles?

Official Upwork Events are hosted by local Upwork Ambassadors in selected cities worldwide. Upwork Huddles, on the other hand, are independently organized meetups hosted by experienced Top Rated freelancers for the local Upwork freelancer community.
