Remembering the specific skill of a freelancer or agency that caught your eye is difficult, especially as your bench of talent grows. That's why we built the tags feature as part of Virtual Talent Bench. Tags help you remember important details about a freelancer or agency so that you can easily find the perfect fit for your next project.
Tags
There are two different types of tags that you can add to a freelancer:
- Soft skills
- Custom
Soft skills are a collection of attributes that clients like yourself are always looking for in freelancers, but aren’t what you could call “job skills” — things like “Responsive,” “Good Advice,” or “Strategic Thinker”. You can use soft skill tags to quickly identify freelancers with traits like these.
Custom tags are exactly that — any skill or attribute you want, you can input as a custom skill. The custom tags field will remember your inputs so you can use the same tag across multiple talent profiles.
Adding or editing tags
To make tagging freelancer and agency profiles as easy as possible, you can do it in multiple places:
- Most pages in the Talent menu
- Search
- Proposal manager
- Directly from freelancer and agency profiles
There are two ways to add or edit tags:
- Click the (...) button in the top right corner of a freelancer or agency card or profile and select “Add a note” or “Edit note.” Select or enter the tags you want, then click “Save Notes.”
- After saving a freelancer or agency profile to a list using the heart button, look for a success message at the top of the screen — it includes a link to either “Add a note” or “Edit note.”
When adding notes on freelancer or agencies, you can also add soft skills and custom tags.
All notes are private and can not be seen by freelancers.
FAQs
Tags are a convenient and customizable way to help you remember important context about talent, especially for attributes that might be shared across multiple freelancers or agencies. There are two kinds of tags:
- Soft Skills — These tags cover soft skills like “Flexible” or “Recommends Solutions,” things that are important to you, but aren’t necessarily “job skills.”
- Custom — These tags are custom input by you, so you can tailor them to your unique needs. Common custom tags include things like hard skills or projects the freelancer works on.
You can add or edit tags on a freelancer or agency profile from almost anywhere their profile or talent card appears, such as the Talent and Search pages, or your Lists page.
