We know that getting paid is extremely important. That's why we offer several ways to access your earnings. If you live outside the U.S. or India, one of these is through your Payoneer account.

Payoneer is a third-party payment vendor that allows you to transfer your Upwork earnings directly onto your Payoneer Debit MasterCard, in countries where Payoneer is available.

Add Payoneer

  1. Go to SettingsGet Paid
  2. Click Add Method
  3. Click the Set Up button for your chosen method
  4. Complete the Payoneer registration process (either by creating a new account or logging in to add Upwork to an existing one)
  5. When you are finished, you will be automatically returned to the Upwork site
  6. Choose a payment schedule and click Next

For security reasons, your new payment method will become active in three days. Remember that the name on your Payoneer account must match your verified name on Upwork.

If you want to change your Payoneer account details on Upwork, Upwork Support will need to disassociate the old Payoneer account for you first. Click here for more information.

Remove Payoneer

You can remove your Payoneer account if you no longer intend to use it to receive your earnings from Upwork clients.

  1. Log into your Upwork account and choose Settings
  2. Go to the Get Paid page
  3. Scroll down to Payment Methods
  4. Choose the three dots (...) near your Payoneer account
  5. Select Remove

Service Exceptions

Mali-XOF

As of April 2022, Payoneer no longer accepts Mali-XOF currency for transactions. You cannot withdraw your funds using Direct-To-Local Bank or Payoneer Account.

However, you can set up a new payment method using other payment options that may be available for your account such as PayPal and Wire Transfer. You can remove the Payoneer payment method and set up a new one by going to SettingsGet Paid.

Note that to protect the security of your account, new payment methods are subject to the same three-day waiting period that we applied to your first payment selection.

Russia

Payoneer has deactivated the Payoneer Mastercard service in Russia. Starting in May 2020, you can no longer transfer your earnings directly onto a Payoneer Debit MasterCard.

You may continue using your Payoneer account, but you will not be able to use the Payoneer Debit Mastercard.

Payoneer Service Issues

As of July 2, 2020, Payoneer confirmed that prepaid cards are being fully reactivated and that you’ll once again be able to use them for ATM withdrawals, online and in-store purchases, withdrawals to your bank, making payments, and managing currencies. Many of you may already be able to complete some of these tasks, as Payoneer is resuming these options in phases. If you have any additional questions, please contact Payoneer directly.
