Prices on Upwork are listed in U.S. Dollars ($ USD) but because we operate globally, billing is often done in local currency for your convenience. If you prefer to pay in USD, you may opt out of local currency billing.
Since exchange rates between currencies change constantly, the converted currency showing on Upwork’s platform is an estimate. This means that the rate you see displayed during checkout may not be the exchange rate at the time you are billed.
Upwork defaults to use local currency in credit/debit cards for Visa, MasterCard, or American Express for clients with billing addresses or issuing banks in the following countries:

To change your preferred currency for credit or debit card billing:
- Go to Settings > Billing & Payments
- Choose Edit on your credit or debit card
- Select your preferred currency
- Choose Save Changes
