If you only have one billing method on file, you’ll need to add a new one before you can delete it. The same goes if a bank account is set as your primary billing method—you’ll always need at least one other active method on file. This helps prevent any hiccups if a payment fails or your card expires.
 

Remove your primary billing method

  1. Go to Account settings (desktop) or Settings (mobile app) > Billing & Payments
  2. Add the new credit card or PayPal account before removing your primary credit card
  3. Verify your new billing method, then set it as your primary
  4. Once that’s done, you can remove the old method
