If you only have one billing method on file, you’ll need to add a new one before you can delete it. The same goes if a bank account is set as your primary billing method—you’ll always need at least one other active method on file. This helps prevent any hiccups if a payment fails or your card expires.
Remove your primary billing method
- Go to Account settings (desktop) or Settings (mobile app) > Billing & Payments
- Add the new credit card or PayPal account before removing your primary credit card
- Verify your new billing method, then set it as your primary
- Once that’s done, you can remove the old method
