Throughout the week, freelancers and agencies can expect to receive email alerts about great job opportunities on Upwork.

The digest is only sent when there is a great possible match available publicly in the marketplace. You may not receive one every day or even every week, but you’ll receive no more than three digests in any single week.

The most successful freelancers and agencies on Upwork actively search for jobs and submit proposals. The job digest displays jobs you may not have seen that fit your profile and history, and helps you to find opportunities you may not have noticed.

How does Upwork decide which projects to send me?

Jobs in your personal job digest fit one or more of the categories below.

  • The title, category, and required skills match past jobs you have searched or submitted proposals for in the last 3 months
  • The subcategories and descriptions are similar to jobs you have searched or submitted proposals for in the last 3 months
  • The job type (fixed-price/hourly) matches jobs you have searched or submitted proposals for in the last 3 months
  • The job keywords contain keywords you searched or submitted proposals for in the last 3 months
What kind of projects can I expect to see in the digest?

The jobs that appear in your digest are public jobs with no hires at the time that they are sent to you, and have fewer than 10 recommended freelancers who have submitted proposals.

Most of the jobs you’ll receive in your digest have been newly posted. We will only send you older jobs if the client has been actively reviewing proposals in the past few days.

Why haven’t I received the Job Digest?

You may not receive one every day or even every week. If you are currently in the Top Rated or Rising Talent program, set yourself as available for work, and check to make sure you are opted in to receive it in your email settings.
