Boosted Profiles allow freelancers to use Connects to “boost” their profile to the top of your view.

Freelancers who bid Connects will have their profile in the top slots shown when you’re ready to invite freelancers. It’s another way to see who’s most interested in your projects.

How it works

After posting a job, you’re prompted to invite freelancers to submit a proposal. Freelancers can use Connects to boost their profile to a promoted spot on your list when you’re ready to invite talent. We match freelancers with clients in matching job categories.

When you see the word “Boosted” next to a freelancer’s profile, you know the freelancer spent extra Connects to be featured at the top of your list.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Boosted Profile?

Boosted Profiles is a new ad format that allows freelancers to effectively market themselves within Upwork’s search results and reach new clients on high traffic surfaces, in a relevant, targeted way. Freelancers bid Connects to jump to the top of a client's view in the “invite freelancers” page, after you post a job.

Does this mean I’ll only see profiles from those who spent extra to boost their profile?

No, you can still see and invite whomever you want to submit a proposal for your job post. Those who successfully boost their profile will appear pinned to the top of the list with “Boosted” adjacent to their name. A boosted freelancer could also appear again in organic results.

Can I turn this feature off? I don’t want to allow Boosted Profiles.

No, all job posts allow freelancers to boost their profiles.

How much are freelancers spending to boost their profile?

Freelancers can use Connects to bid for a chance to have their profile boosted; the amount is up to them. We advise freelancers to carefully consider the value of attention to their profile and new work.

Does a Boosted Profile mean that the freelancer is the best for my project?

It’s up to you to decide who is best for you to work with. When a freelancer boosts a profile, it means that they’re really interested in getting more views and earning more work. High interest is a great sign that the freelancer is dedicated to helping you get the results you’re looking for.
