What is a Boosted Profile?
Boosted Profiles are a paid way for freelancers to promote their services and increase visibility with clients like you. When freelancers boost their profile, they bid Connects (Upwork’s virtual tokens) to appear more prominently in search results or recommendation lists. If a profile is boosted, you’ll see a Boosted label next to their name.
How do Boosted Profiles work?
- Freelancers spend Connects to boost their profile and stand out in search or recommendation areas
- Boosted Profiles may appear in your search results or in freelancer recommendations when their skills match your job post
- You’ll see a Boosted label next to any freelancer who has paid to promote their profile
- You can still search for, view, and invite any freelancer on the platform
- Some freelancers may have the option to include a video when they boost
Do Boosted Profiles limit what I see?
Not at all. You can still see, search for, and invite any freelancer you like. Boosted Profiles just help highlight freelancers who are actively marketing their services and match your job needs.
Can I turn off Boosted Profiles for my job post?
Boosted Profiles are automatically enabled for all job posts (except Enterprise jobs). But you’re always in control of who you reach out to or hire.
How much do freelancers pay to boost?
It varies. Freelancers choose how many Connects to bid based on the visibility they want. It works like an auction — the higher the bid, the more likely they’ll appear near the top of relevant search results.
Does a Boosted Profile mean they’re the best fit?
Not necessarily. A Boosted Profile indicates the freelancer is eager to connect and invest in visibility. It’s still important to review their profile, proposal, experience, and ratings to decide whether they’re the right fit for your project.
