How do I adjust a job's start date before the contract begins?

That depends on where you are in the process:

  • Before making an offer: Just edit the job’s Estimated Start Date in the job post settings. This gives freelancers a better sense of your timeline
  • While sending the offer: You’ll see a Start Date field in the offer form. Update it there before selecting send

How do I adjust a job's start date after I've already started a contract with a freelancer?

Once a contract is active, the start date is locked in. To change it, you’ll need to end and reissue the contract. Here’s how:

  1. End the current contract — Be sure to pay for any outstanding work before ending it
  2. Rehire the freelancer — Use the Rehire option on their profile or past contract
  3. Set the start date
