Upwork teams allow clients to organize collaborations with freelancers. Marketplace clients can create one team, while Business Plus users can add more. Teams streamline contract management and payments. Users can create, edit, or hide teams, and must upgrade to Business Plus to unlock additional team creation options.

As a Marketplace client, you can create one team on Upwork. To add more teams, upgrade to Business Plus.
Create a new team
- Go to Account settings (desktop) or Settings (mobile app) > Teams and select the Create team button
- Enter the desired team name
- Select Save
If you want to create additional teams and still need to update to Business Plus, you’ll see Unlock on the Create team button. Select Unlock to learn more and start your upgrade.
To contract freelancers and agencies under your new team, simply select the appropriate team’s drop-down when posting a new job. Learn more about using teams to group your contracts, making it easier to organize your work and payments.
You can edit a team at any time by adding or removing members, changing permissions, or moving members to a different team. You can also hide a team that you’re not currently using and make it active again later.
