Freelancers on a free, Basic membership plan can generate a limited number of queries using Uma. Upgrade to Freelancer Plus or Agency Plus to access Uma's full capabilities.

How do I use Uma?
To access Uma and view previous chats:
- Select the Uma icon from the navigation bar at the top of your screen
- Send a message or use the prompts to get started
- You can find past chat records in the left side panel, with logs kept for 90 days
What are the usage limits for Uma?
The weekly usage limits of Uma depend on the number of messages sent, the length of queries, and the complexity of tasks.
You’ll get approximately 10 messages per week if you’re not a Freelancer Plus subscriber. Freelancer Plus members enjoy full access to Uma's capabilities.
As you use Uma, you will receive an alert when you reach 50% of your usage limit, informing you that you are approaching capacity.
Do I need to tell my clients I’m using Uma?
We recommend that you inform your clients upfront about using generative AI technology on their projects, and ensure that they have not prohibited the use of all or certain generative AI tools for their projects.
Who can view my messages with Uma?
Messages with Uma are subject to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Clients or third parties can not view the messages, but our internal teams may view them if they need to handle a related dispute.
