Can I send an offer without creating a job post first?
Yes. If you know which freelancer or agency you want to hire, you can send an offer without creating a job post. They'll see your offer in their messages.
How do I send an offer without a job post?
- To rehire a past freelancer or agency: Select the Rehire button on their profile to create and send the offer
- To hire a new freelancer: Open the freelancer’s profile and select Hire to create and send the offer
- To send an offer in messages: If you’re eligible to send Direct Messages to freelancers you haven’t worked with before, you can create and send offers to them by selecting Hire now in the sidebar of a conversation
How do I use Uma, Upwork's Mindful AI, to create an offer without a job post?
If you’re creating an offer without a job post, Uma can help simplify the process. When this feature is available, you’ll see an option to get help from Uma near the top of the offer page. You can then:
- Select the Get offer suggestions from AI button
- Enter a sentence or two about the work and your budget and select Get suggestions
- Review the AI suggestions and apply them to your offer
- Edit the suggestions as needed — unedited AI-generated suggestions will be marked with a blue dot next to each section
