What is a note on Upwork?
Notes are a convenient way to remember important information or context about a freelancer, such as a skill that stood out or an item on their portfolio that makes them a great fit for your next project.
Here's some good to know info about notes:
- You can add notes to freelancers whether you've saved or worked with them or not
- You can choose from available soft skills labels, create a custom tag, or just write a note
- All notes are private and cannot be seen by freelancers
Pro tip:
If you’re adding similar context across multiple freelancers or agencies, consider using our tags feature.
How do I add notes?
To add notes to freelancers as you're saving them:
- When you save a freelancer or agency with the heart button, you'll see a success message
- In that message, select Add a note
- Choose a soft skills tag, create a tag, or write a note
To add notes on freelancers you've already saved:
- Go to Hire talent > Talent you've saved
- Click on the options menu (...) and select Add a note
- Choose a soft skills tag, create a tag, or write a note
To add a note to a freelancer without saving them:
- Open the freelancer's profile
- Find the three dot options menu (...)
- Click on that options menu and choose Add notes
- Choose from the available soft skills, add custom tags, or write a note
How do I edit notes?
Once you've added a note, you'll see it as a label on the freelancer's profile. You can edit it at any time by selecting that label or by clicking on the options menu of the freelancer's profile and selecting Edit note.
