How do I join my company on Upwork automatically?

You can join your company on Upwork by signing up with your work email.

  1. Enter your company information and email to begin signing up
  2. If your company has enabled the ability to join automatically, you’ll see a prompt after email verification letting you know that your company is already on Upwork
Note: If your company is allowing teammates to join automatically, they have the Business Plus plan, and you’ll automatically be signed up on the Business Plus plan too.

Can I still create my own company account if my company has enabled the ability to join automatically?

No, not if your domain is part of an active auto-join setup. You’ll be added to your company’s organization by default once you verify your email.

What if I don’t see my company when I sign up?

If your company isn’t showing up when you sign up, try these steps:

  • Use your work email — Make sure you’re signing up with your company email, not a personal one
  • Check settings — Confirm whether your company has enabled the ability for new accounts to join automatically
  • Verify your domain — Ask a colleague to confirm that your email address matches your company’s verified domain

If you still can’t find your company, contact your company admin for help.

What if I already have an account on Upwork?

No worries — if you already have an Upwork account, you don’t need to create a new one (you’re not allowed to have more than one). Instead, just ask the company to invite you to their team using the email linked to your existing account. Once you accept the invite, you’ll be added to their company setup.

If you need to separate your other work from your role on the company team, you can create a specialized under your account, depending on how you’ll be working. For the full breakdown, check out: Why you can’t have multiple accounts.
