M-Pesa is available for freelancers in Kenya who are using a mobile wallet. It allows you to transfer your earnings to your bank account, withdraw cash, and pay for some goods and services with your mobile device.
How do I add mobile wallet as a withdrawal method?
You'll need to register and activate your mobile wallet account first. Once you do, you can add it to Upwork:
- Go to Account settings (desktop) or Settings (mobile app) > Withdrawals
- Select Add a method
- Choose the Setup button for mobile wallet
- Enter the details for your mobile wallet account and select Add mobile wallet account
For security reasons, your new withdrawal method will become active in three days.
Note: Your first and last name must exactly match the name on your mobile wallet account and your verified name on Upwork.
