What is an incentive offer for Upwork’s services?
Incentive offers allow clients to earn credit based on their spending on Upwork. For example, our partners may send you promotional incentive offers such as: If you spend $500, you'll receive $100 in credits for future projects. The amount you're required to spend to earn the credit depends on the specific incentive offer.
How do incentive offers work?
- For an offer from an Upwork partner, you’ll be directed to their dedicated partner offer page on Upwork
- There, you'll be prompted to sign up for an Upwork client account or log in to your existing one. (If you forgot your password, recover it instead of creating a duplicate account)
- Once you’re logged in, the incentive offer is automatically connected to your Upwork client account
- Hire and work with freelancers on Upwork to meet the amount required to earn the credit. All spending counts toward meeting the required threshold except Enterprise contracts
- Once you’ve spent the amount specified by the offer, a credit is automatically added to your account, which you can use for future projects on Upwork.

What types of projects are eligible for incentive offers?
Incentive offers apply to all non-Enterprise projects, including fixed-price and hourly contracts, consultations, and Project Catalog projects.
Upwork Enterprise contracts are not eligible for incentive offers.
How will I know when I’ve earned the incentive offer credit?
We'll email you when the Upwork credit has been applied to your account.
How do I redeem the incentive offers credit I earned?
Once you've earned the credit, it will be automatically added to your Upwork account balance, available to spend on future Upwork projects.
Is there a deadline for spending the amount required to earn the credit?
Yes. Once you activate the incentive, you'll have a specified amount of time to meet the spending threshold to earn the credit. Each partner sets their own time limit, so timing is different for each offer.

Does the Upwork incentive offers credit expire?
