Spend $500 on talent payments within 60 days of enrollment and earn $100 back in promotional credits. This offer is available for enrollment until December 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST. This is a limited-time promotional discount designed to help you get started on Upwork. The promotional credit is issued by Upwork at no cost to you and is not a cash payment, deposit, or stored value.
Who qualifies
You're eligible for this offer if you're a brand new Upwork customer with no prior account, you have an active Business Plus plan in good standing, and you're not enrolled in another Upwork promotion. Your account must comply with Upwork's Terms of Service. Only one promotional offer per customer account is permitted. Creating multiple accounts to exploit this offer constitutes abuse and may result in account suspension.
How it works
When you enroll in this offer (on or before December 31, 2026), you have 60 days to accumulate $500 in qualifying spend. Qualifying spend is defined as money you pay to talent for completed work, tracked through invoice events. This does not include Upwork service fees, taxes, government fees, escrow deposits, Featured Job posts, or Direct Contracts. You can monitor your progress anytime in your Upwork account dashboard.
Once you reach the $500 threshold, Upwork will issue your $100 promotional credit within 3 business days. Your promotional credit will expire exactly 60 calendar days from the date of issuance. You'll receive an email confirmation with the credit amount, issuance date, and expiration date.
Your promotional credit
Your promotional credit is automatically applied to your next eligible Upwork transactions at checkout. You don't need to enter a code or manually redeem it. The credit appears as a statement credit (automatic reduction to your invoice). Your credit can be applied to future Upwork transactions, including Upwork platform fees and service charges. The credit cannot be used to fund escrow. If your credit amount is larger than a single transaction, the remaining balance will apply to your next eligible transactions until fully used or expired.
The credit cannot be withdrawn to your payment method or converted to cash. It cannot be transferred to another account or person. Once applied to a transaction, it cannot be refunded. Only one promotional credit per account may be issued under this offer.
Credit expiration
Your promotional credit expires 60 calendar days from the date it's issued. Expired credits cannot be reinstated or extended. Any unused credit will be automatically removed from your account after the expiration date.
Plan changes
If you downgrade from Business Plus to Basic after your promotional credit has been issued, any unused promotional credit will be automatically revoked and forfeited. Your downgrade becomes effective at the end of your current billing cycle, not immediately. You will lose access to any remaining promotional credit balance.
If you downgrade before reaching the $500 spending threshold, no promotional credit will be issued and you will no longer be eligible for this offer. Once you downgrade from Business Plus, you are permanently ineligible to re-enroll in this promotional offer. This is a one-time offer per new customer account.
Refunds and chargebacks
If you receive a refund on a transaction where promotional credit was applied, Upwork will reclaim a pro-rata portion of the promotional credit used in that transaction. This clawback is processed automatically or through Customer Support. If you initiate a chargeback on a transaction where promotional credit was applied, Upwork will reclaim the full amount of promotional credit used in that transaction, and your account may be flagged for potential fraud or abuse.

This is a promotional discount issued by Upwork. It is not cash, money, or funds. It is not stored value or an account balance. It is not a gift certificate, voucher, or deposit. It is not withdrawable or exchangeable for cash. Under U.S. federal tax law, this promotional credit is not considered taxable income to you because it is a discount on services, not a payment. You are responsible for determining your own tax obligations under applicable law.

Fraud and abuse
Upwork reserves the right to identify and revoke promotional credits if fraud, abuse, or exploitation is detected. Examples include creating multiple accounts to receive multiple credits, funding fake or circular transactions to meet spending thresholds, exploiting chargebacks or refunds, or violating Upwork's Terms of Service. Upwork may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upwork also reserves the right to correct errors in credit issuance or application.
Changes to this offer
Upwork may modify, suspend, or terminate this promotional offer at any time with or without notice. Modifications do not apply retroactively to promotional credits already issued and redeemed. Any changes to terms apply only to future credit issuances.
