If you suspect that your account has been compromised, go here to report the problem to our support team.
You can manage your login options within your settings, under the Password and Security page.
As a best practice for keeping you and your information safe, we recommend that you change your password every 90 days. We also recommend setting up a security question and updating it every 90 days.
To ensure you have a strong password, you should include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Your security answer should be something memorable for you, but not easy for someone to guess or find online.
Don’t share your password or security answer with anyone, and never allow others to log into your Upwork account.
If you set up your account using a Single Sign On (SSO) method like Apple or Google, you can add a password to your account here.
- Go to Settings › Password and Security
- Select Set up now next to Upwork password
- Go to Settings › Password and Security
- Under the Login section, select the Update password link
- Enter your existing password, then create a new one
NOTE:
In order to change your password, you need to know your current password and security answer, if you’ve set one up. If you have forgotten either of them, go here to learn how to reset them.
- Go to Settings › Password and Security
- Select Set up now next to Security question and answer
- Choose a question and type in your answer
- Go to Settings › Password and Security
- Under the Two-step verification section, select the Update question and answer link
- Enter your current security answer and choose a new question and answer
Single Sign-On (SSO) options allow you to use Google or Apple credentials to log in. You can add or remove them at any time. To manage your SSO options within your account:
- Go to Settings > Password and Security
- In the Login section, choose an option next to Log in with Google or Log in with Apple. You’ll only see options that apply to your account
- Follow the prompts provided from the SSO provider
PRO TIPS:
Be careful about giving out information, especially on social media, that could help others guess your security question answers.
