The “Avg Response Time” tag helps identify freelancers who consistently reply to client messages. It appears on proposals, invitations, and profiles, making it easier to choose responsive talent— which is especially useful when projects are time-sensitive.
Note: This feature is in testing, so not all eligible freelancers will have a responsiveness tag, and not all clients will see them yet.

How do I find freelancers who respond quickly?
You might notice some freelancers are marked with their average response time tag. This signals that they’re highly responsive—great news if you're trying to move fast.
What does the 24-hour responsiveness tag measure?
It shows that the freelancer:
- Has replied to client messages (both pre-contract and in-contract) on average in the time window presented
- Has been active on Upwork in the last 90 days
This helps you gauge which freelancers are likely to reply quickly and keep your project moving.
Where will I see the responsiveness tag?
You might see it in:
- Proposals you review
- Invitations you send
- Freelancer profiles
