Why is a button grayed out or not working on my account?

If action buttons like “Buy Connects,” “Apply Now,” or “Accept Offer” aren’t working, the issue may be related to billing setup, incomplete forms, insufficient Connects, verification requirements, or account restrictions. Double-check these areas and try clearing your browser cache or logging out and back in if problems persist.

“Buy Connects” button is inactive

If you’re trying to buy Connects but the button won’t let you click it, check your billing method and update as needed.

We always try to charge your earnings balance first. If that’s not enough, it moves to your primary billing method. If you don’t have enough earnings and no active payment method set up, the button will stay inactive.

“Apply Now” button isn’t working

This button usually stops working when something in your profile or proposal form is incomplete.

Check these areas:

  • Proposal form – Have you filled in all required fields? Missing info can block the button
  • Connects balance – You’ll need Connects to submit most proposals. Check your balance under Account Settings > Membership and Connects and buy more if needed
  • Identity or location verification – If you see prompts asking you to verify your identity or location, follow those steps first
  • Account status – Check for any in-app alerts or emails about account holds, suspensions, or restrictions
  • Contact information – Go to Account settings (desktop) or Settings (mobile app) > Contact info and double-check your location and address details

“Accept Offer” button isn’t working

If you’re trying to accept a client’s offer but the button isn’t doing anything, it could be related to:

  • Your offer details
Make sure all required fields in the offer form are filled out
  • Client’s account
Sometimes the issue is on the client’s side (like a suspended account). You won’t see those details, but you can ask the client to check and confirm their account is active
  • Your account status
Just like with proposals, identity verification issues or an account restriction on your side can block this action

Still not sure what’s wrong?

If everything looks correct and you’re still stuck, try logging out and back in again or clearing your browser cache. This can sometimes fix temporary glitches.
