To help you focus on getting your projects done, we try to make tasks like record keeping as easy as possible. All payments on your ReportsTransaction History have official invoices that are ready to be downloaded or printed for record-keeping purposes. The finance system charges your billing method automatically whenever you have a balance due.

Get an official invoice or receipt

  1. Go to ReportsTransaction History
  2. Find the item you need
  3. Choose the Reference ID, and then select View Invoice or View Receipt

Bulk download invoices and receipts

  1. Go to ReportsTransaction History
  2. It will show a 30-day window by default
  3. Choose the Download Invoices button

Invoices include your company name, company owner's name, and company contact address. If you have a VAT number, that will be included, too. Your freelancer's verified name will always be included. Some freelancers also provide an invoicing address (this is optional).

You can update your company contact address under SettingsMy Info.

Invoices are created for all billings for freelancer contracts. The standard 5% marketplace fee will be listed on its own invoice, along with any applicable taxes. The one-time contract initiation fee and related taxes will also be listed on a separate invoice, when applicable.

You can make a single payment for multiple weekly invoices, or for less than the invoiced amount due to a credit on your account.

For Upwork Payroll, Enterprise, and Any Hire accounts, you will also see your payroll service fee listed on your invoices and in your transaction history if you have an active payroll contract.

NOTES

To help protect the security of your financial information, we have limited the invoice and receipt tools in Transaction History to company owners and admins with full or finance-only permissions.

You may only bulk download invoices in 30-day windows that do not exceed 50 total invoices.
